Warm UIC welcome
Crowds of first-year and transfer students filled the UIC Pavilion Sunday to get a taste of what it’s like to be a UIC Flame during the annual UIC Convocation.
The event marks students’ entry into the academic community and gives them a crash course in UIC traditions.
“Take advantage of every minute of every day,” University of Illinois President Tim Killeen told students.
“Dream big, think bold, work hard and make sure you have some fun,” added J. Rex Tolliver, associate vice chancellor for student affairs.
After the event, students and their families moved to the Chancellor’s New Student Welcome Picnic for food, music and games.
