Students honored for commitment to civil rights, social justice
Twenty-five UIC students were honored Jan. 22 at the Martin Luther King Junior Scholarship Awards Luncheon.
The scholarship program was established at UIC in 1985 to recognize underrepresented students who have demonstrated high academic achievement and shown a commitment to civil rights and social justice through community service.
Undergraduate students received $2,000 and graduate and professional students were awarded $5,000 scholarships.
