Videography by Sam Hostettler
The College of Pharmacy will host the 2015 Garden Walk and Lesniewicz Memorial Lecture July 17 to celebrate Chicago’s only medicinal plant garden.
There will be guided tours of the Dorothy Bradley Atkins Medicinal Plant Garden, located at the corner of Polk and Wood streets, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a lecture by Emory University medical ethnobotanist Cassandra Quave at noon in 134-1 Pharmacy.
The medicinal plant garden contains more than 200 species of medicinal plants. It was established in 2002 in memory of 1945 College of Pharmacy alumna Dorothy Bradley Atkins by her husband, Robert Atkins, a 1945 College of Medicine graduate.
