UIC, Chicago police quickly nab robbery suspects
UIC and Chicago police arrested two men Monday for a robbery that occurred earlier at 1301 S. Blue Island Ave.
At 1:35 p.m., 20 minutes after the robbery was reported, two men matching a description of the offenders were spotted leaving a residence at 1330 S. Morgan St., UIC police said.
When officers from both departments arrived, the suspects fled, but were captured after a short foot chase. A loaded handgun was recovered.
The victim identified the men as the robbers.
The suspects were taken to the Chicago Police Department’s 12th District headquarters and processed by the UICPD/CPD Joint Robbery Task Force.

Oct. 7: A woman was arrested at 809 S. Morgan St. at 8:54 a.m. for a theft that occurred in September.
Oct. 9: A UIC student was arrested for a narcotics offense at 8:50 p.m. at 845 W. Harrison St.
