Message from the Provost
Dear faculty, staff and students:
I am writing to announce that Steve Everett, dean of the UIC College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts (CADA), has accepted a position as Adelphi University’s Provost and Executive Vice President effective July 1, 2018.
Steve joined UIC in 2013 as dean overseeing CADA’s four departments, numerous programs, the Gallery 400 art gallery, the renowned Jane Addams Hull House Museum.
Under his leadership, the college has launched a range of new and revised degrees; completed a new college technology facility, called ciCADA, to foster strategies for teaching and learning and technologically-oriented research; hired 26 new faculty scholars and artists to position the college for academic excellence; expanded alumni engagement; and launched a capital campaign to build a new state-of-the-art $100 million UIC Center for the Arts.
I would like to thank Steve for his dedication and leadership, and I hope you will join me in wishing him well in his new position.
I will appoint an interim dean for CADA and launch a national search for a new dean in the very near future.
Sincerely,
Susan Poser
Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
