Help us #IGNITEGivingTuesday

At UIC, we are always scanning the skyline and declaring, “Go higher.”  We hope you’ll join us in demonstrating this today, on #GivingTuesday.  It is a national day of giving back.  We look at it as a day of coming together.  Our goal on #GivingTuesday is, and always has been, your participation.

It’s only with our collective effort that we can continue to forge the future of public education. With your gifts today, and every day, we can demonstrate the collective power of giving back to UIC, and that every gift of every size truly matters.

And, know that your giving counts toward IGNITE:  The Campaign for UIC. Through this campaign we will support students, empower faculty, drive discovery and connect to communities at home and around the world.

Like last year, our Giving Tuesday Web site allows you to watch each college’s and unit’s success, track the total giving and keep tabs on a leaderboard in real time. I hope you’ll visit the page to participate in any of these ways:

• Give to the areas that are most meaningful to you.
• After you give, share the news on social media using #IGNITEGivingTuesday and encourage others to follow your lead.
• Click the social media links on the homepage to share messages encouraging your friends, family and colleagues to participate.
• Keep tabs on the total giving, and the leaderboards, at givingtuesday.uic.edu. If you’re feeling competitive, encourage your friends, family and colleagues to support your area.

I encourage all UIC alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students, whether you are an existing donor, considering making your first gift to UIC or up for the task of spreading the word, to participate in #GivingTuesday today. Thank you for all you do for UIC.
