Pilot grants

The Center for Clinical and Translational Science has pilot grant funding available for the academic year.

The pilot grant program aims to foster outstanding new clinical and translational research at UIC by supporting the development of preliminary data that can be used to launch federally funded research proposals. The program encourages interdisciplinary teams of investigators.

All applications must involve human subjects, facilitate human subject investigations, establish infrastructure related to human subject investigation, or concern disease mechanisms with clear implications for therapeutics or prevention.

Letters of intent are required by noon Sept. 30.

Green proposals

The Sustainability Fee Advisory Board is seeking student proposals for ways to make the campus greener.

Each student pays a $3 Sustainability Fee per semester, which funds projects that establish a sustainable campus environment. The fee funds small, short-term projects, subsidizes long-term projects and helps fund student travel to sustainability-related conferences.

Improving health care

The Innovation Center’s MAD Lab is accepting applications from UIC clinicians, researchers and faculty to develop ideas into health care devices.

MAD Lab includes an interdisciplinary team with expertise in engineering, medicine, industrial design and business. The lab will partner with employees to accelerate health care device ideas toward commercialization.

Apply by Sept. 23.

TeachTech Conference

Share ideas for shaping learning with technology in teaching as a presenter for the 2016 TechTeach Conference.

Proposals are due Sept. 16.

Presenters can discuss topics such as using digital content, using engagement strategies and more.

The Nov. 15 conference will highlight innovative techniques and tools along with the most effective use of technology in teaching and learning.
