Women’s basketball coach to leave UIC
Women’s basketball head coach Regina Miller and the UIC Department of Intercollegiate Athletics have mutually agreed to part ways, Director of Athletics Garrett Klassy announced March 6.
“On behalf of everyone at UIC, we would like to thank coach Regina Miller for her seven years of dedication to our women’s basketball program,” Klassy said. “She has been fully committed to the growth of the student-athletes on the court, in the classroom and in our community. All of us at UIC will be forever grateful for Coach Miller’s contributions toward enhancing the student-athlete experience.”
“I’ve enjoyed my time at UIC and will always cherish the friendships that I made during my time here,” said Miller. “It’s been a good chapter in my book.”
Miller compiled an overall record of 95-122 in seven seasons as the head coach of the Flames, including a mark of 8-22 during the recently completed 2017-18 campaign. She helped UIC win a program-record 26 games and a Women’s Basketball Invitational championship in 2013-14.
Klassy will lead a comprehensive national search to immediately identify a new head coach to lead the UIC women’s basketball program.
