Absentee Dads: Black men who return to their communities from prison find it difficult to make connections. For men who are fathers, their inability to make connections can have economic and social implications for themselves and their families. Joseph Strickland, senior researcher at the Center for Social Policy and Research, UIC Jane Addams College of Social Work, can discuss the parenting role of black male ex-prisoners.
