UIC Experts
Ebola Virus: The outbreak of Ebola virus continues to take a heavy toll in Africa despite efforts to contain it. There are currently no treatments. Duncan Wardrop, UIC associate professor of chemistry, and his colleagues, have spent years developing potential inhibitors of the virus. He is available to comment on potential therapeutic intervention. Contact Jeanne Galatzer-Levy, (312) 996-1583; jgala@uic.edu
Taxi vs. Ride-share: Ride-share companies shouldn’t be over-regulated. Rather, taxi companies should be deregulated to better compete in the smartphone-driven environment, says Steve Schlickman, executive director of the UIC Urban Transportation Center.
