Did you know?

UIC student employees don’t receive the city of Chicago’s minimum wage. According to the law, because UIC is a state-funded organization, it is only required to pay the state minimum wage. If you want to work on this issue, contact Joe Anderson at jander71@uic.edu.

Member of the month: Evelyn Rocha

Evelyn Rocha is a second-year student at UIC with a major in public policy. Her plans include becoming a community organizer and working for nonprofit organizations. She joined student government this year because she loves meeting new people and believes her purpose is to represent her peers.

She was recently elected as director of the Communication and Recruitment Committee. The committee oversees communications with student body via email, social media and more.
