Taking a chance
Welcome back! Good to see everyone back on campus and hope everyone’s break was fantastic. Now we start not only a new semester but also start a new year. 2015 is sure to be filled with wonder, excitement, memories and chances. However, it’s up to you to get that first step; let me explain.
When I was a young teenager I learned about a position called the pit reporter. This person was hired by Vans Warped Tour to go on their entire tour to photograph and interview bands. This literally sounded like the best thing to ever exist and I always wanted to apply. I never took the chance and it wasn’t until this winter break when I had a change of heart.
Why was I limiting myself? Why not put together the best video I can and submit it? So with my trusty video camera I started to film my video application and I finally submitted it. It was only a few days later when I got an email from Vans Warped Tour. I was chosen as a finalist!
Just so you know I was on State Street dancing and yelling; I scared a lot of people.
I couldn’t contain my excitement and I started to try and plan out my second video that would be put up for voting. Currently, I just submitted my second video that will be up for voting soon.
This just goes to show what can happen when you take a chance. So, dear readers, my advice to you this year is to take a chance on your dream; you never know what could happen!
