PRESS CONFERENCE: Chicago and Illinois Lead Nation in Public Corruption, Report Says
WHO/WHAT:
Chicago and Illinois lead the nation in public corruption convictions according to a new report co-authored by a University of Illinois at Chicago political scientist and a senior fellow at the University of Illinois Institute of Government and Public Affairs.
Details of the study, which features analysis of data from the U.S. Department of Justice, will be released and discussed during a news conference tomorrow.

DETAILS:
Dick Simpson, professor and head of political science at UIC and a former 44th Ward alderman in Chicago, will release the report and discuss highlights of the findings during the morning press conference.
Lead co-author of the report, Jim Nowlan, a senior fellow with the University of Illinois Institute of Government and Public Affairs, will distribute the report and be available for interviews at the Stratton Office Building in Springfield, Ill.
Simpson and Nowlan, a former Illinois state Representative, are also scheduled to present findings from the report Wednesday evening during testimony before Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s Ethics Reform Task Force.
