Learn skills, win prizes with Lynda.com
A classroom isn’t the only place to learn new skills.
UIC offers training videos to students and employees through its subscription to Lynda.com. The site features videos on topics ranging from video editing and web development to photography tools and online art software.
This month, the UIC community can win high-tech prizes while learning new skills. The Academic Computing and Communications Center is sponsoring a contest through the end of February — complete a full video course, and get a chance to win an Apple TV or Amazon Fire HD6. Winners will be announced in March.
“Once you complete the course, download the certificate in PDF format and put your name and contact information on it for the grand-prize giveaway,” said Edward Campbell, ACCC assistant director of creative services.
“We are looking at ways to enhance the knowledge on campus,” Campbell said.
“There are a lot of training sessions on the basics of social media and using the Internet more efficiently,” Campbell said.
