Harrison Street Bridge demolition still delayed

Another week, another delay.

The wait continues for the start of the demolition of the Harrison Street Bridge, originally scheduled for April 8.

Illinois Department of Transportation officials are no longer announcing a start date for the work, but say it will be completed and the bridge reopened by September 2015.

No start date has been announced for the demolition of the Halsted Street Bridge.

A temporary walkway to the Morgan Street Bridge that will allow pedestrians access to the Morgan Street CTA station is scheduled to be completed May 15.

The bridge is scheduled to be fully completed and opened to vehicular and pedestrian traffic Aug. 13.
