Rob Ehsan
Men’s Basketball Head Coach
Biography
Rob Ehsan has coached men’s basketball at the college level for more than 20 years. He joined the UIC staff in April 2024. Previously, Ehsan was head coach at University of Alabama Birmingham and assistant coach at Stanford University, Virginia Tech and University of Maryland. He was on the staff at Stanford when NIL (name, image, likeness) rights began for college athletes.
At Stanford in 2021, Ehsan led the TopConnect Graduate Assistant Leadership Academy, a program to prepare the top men’s and women’s college basketball graduate assistant coaches for careers in coaching. He has been sought after to deliver advice to businesses about team building and positive corporate culture.
Ehsan has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Davis and a master’s degree in business from University of Maryland.
