Chief Strategy Officer for UI Health and Professor of Emergency Medicine
Biography
Dr. Janet Lin is the Chief Strategy Officer for UI Health and a professor of emergency medicine in the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She holds an affiliate appointment in the division of community health sciences in the UIC School of Public Health and serves as an affiliate with UIC’s Center for Global Health.
Lin’s work focuses on healthcare delivery transformation, health systems development, disaster preparedness and response, and improving access to care in resource-limited settings through an equity and social justice lens. She has led major strategic, operational and quality initiatives across UI Health, including pandemic response, community partnerships, and the development of innovative programs that use electronic health records and other tools to improve screening and linkage to care
Lin leads Project HEAL, a continuously funded program using electronic medical record technology to screen and link patients with HIV, hepatitis C, diabetes and cancer to care.
She has worked extensively across Haiti, Kenya, Uganda, and the Caribbean and Latin America to strengthen public health and medicine, emergency care systems and disaster preparedness capacity.
She is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, has served as president of the Chicago Board of Health through December 2024, and sits on the executive board of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago.
