Biography
Benjamin Van Voorhees, MD, MPH, is the George R. Honig, MD, PhD Endowed Professor in Pediatrics and a professor of medicine. He is head of the pediatrics department in the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He also serves as the physician-in-chief of the Children’s Hospital University of Illinois.
His research focuses on information and communication technology, digital health intervention development, system redesign and clinical epidemiology to prevent the onset of chronic disease in childhood and adolescence.
An internist-pediatrician, Dr. Van Voorhees is recognized globally for his development of CATCH-IT (Competent Adulthood Transition with Cognitive, Humanistic, and Interpersonal Training) — the first scalable model to prevent onset of depressive disorders in adolescents.
