Join the Black studies and Latin American and Latino studies departments for the second installment of the TalkBack Tuesdays virtual series on Blackness in Latin America. This interdisciplinary series features five scholars with expertise across Latin America: Brazil, Colombia, and Cuba. Each event provides an opportunity for participants to explore the historical and contemporary narratives about Black communities in Latin America.

The Feb. 23 series on “The Black Youth Have an Active Voice Now: The Hip-Hop Scene in São Paulo, Brazil” will be led by Jaqueline Lima Santos. Jaqueline Lima Santos is a PhD in social anthropology from Unicamp and is a Harvard Alumni Fellow. She works as a teacher, researcher, and consultant in the areas of equity, race, gender, education, childhood and youth, Afro-Brazilian and African history and culture, and PALOP (African Portuguese-speaking countries).
