Talila “TL” Lewis (@talilalewis) is a thought leader, community lawyer and organizer who connects disability justice, racial justice and abolition.
We are looking forward to TL’s presentation and thinking together about those connections as TL explains how ableism is at the heart of every form of oppression. TL will also share about how HEARD, a cross-disability advocacy organization that works with deaf/disabled incarcerated people, grew into a firmly abolitionist organization. In hosting this event, we hope to continue UIC’s ongoing conversations about intersectional organizing and dreaming radically different futures.
