Join the Arab American Cultural Center, the Arab American Action Network, and the Policing in Chicago Research Group in collaboration with GLAS 244 (Asian-Arab Connections taught by Professor Nadine Naber) in a presentation and conversation on “Suspicious Activity Reports and the Surveillance State.”
Speakers will discuss racial profiling and surveillance technologies impacting Arab American communities and present finding of a recent community-based report and the ways Arab Americans are working toward a world without surveillance and racial injustices:
- Nadiyah Alyafai, from Arab American Action Network and UIC student.
- Andy Clarno, from the Policing in Chicago Research Group and UIC professor.
