This hybrid event takes place at CUPPA Hall and virtually over Zoom.

How do planners play a role in public health?

UPPSA will be hosting a guest speaker series called Planning for Health, featuring individuals who deal with public health issues. Part guest speaker presentation, part discussion, these events will work to make students more aware of public health’s importance and relevance to urban planning and will bring urban planning and public health students together to inspire a more interdisciplinary dialogue. The intent of these events is to:
1) Establish health as a highly prominent and relevant topic within urban planning.
2) Inform our future practice as planning professionals.

This second event will feature Little Village Environmental Justice Organization’s Feliciano Ocegueda and Jeremiah Muhamma, both of whom work on LVEJO’s Water Justice initiative. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 19, at 5 p.m. Register online.
