“Learning Together: Art Education and Community” Gallery 400 opening

Join us for the opening reception of “Learning Together: Art Education and Community” at Gallery 400. This exhibition celebrates the rich legacy of progressive art pedagogy in Chicago and showcases the impact of art education from the mid-1960s through the 2010s.

The exhibition explores how Chicago’s educators and students have used art as a tool for activism, community-building and creative expression. The exhibition highlights the pioneering work of artist educators through a dynamic array of contemporary art, co-created artworks, sketchbooks, ephemera and images of public art installations in K-12 schools across the city.
