In honor of International Week of Deaf People 2023 (Sept. 18-24), join the UIC Library Undergraduate Engagement Program and the Disability Cultural Center to experience Sound Theatre Company’s “Changer: A Hand Telling.”
“Changer: A Hand Telling” shares the Coast Salish tale of Changer, transformed into a sign-language based narrative featuring two Deaf Native storytellers, and filmed on Lower Elwha S’Klallam Tribe land.
Light refreshments will be served!
Accessibility:
To make the event accessible for immunocompromised people, we will ask that everyone wear a mask when they are not eating. The film has an audio track and captions in addition to signed storytelling.
