Art Unveiling at the College of Nursing

The College of Nursing invites the UIC community to join us as we unveil an original, site-specific artwork in the college’s renovated student lounge. The piece is titled, “Foam In, Foam Out.”

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 31.
Time: 12-3 p.m.
Location: UIC College of Nursing lobby and adjacent student lounge

Dean Eileen Collins will deliver remarks and the ribbon will be cut shortly after noon. The artist, Lori Larusso, will be on hand as well. The event will feature hors d’oeuvres and entertainment.

About the artwork
Conceived by UIC Nursing’s Office of Equity and Inclusion, the mission of this project is to elevate the college environment by infusing it with the power of art. Through the creation of vibrant and imaginative compositions born from student input, this project aims to provide a visually appealing and culturally enriching space that reflects the day-to-day experiences and values of our nursing community. By fostering a sense of belonging, promoting equity and inclusion, and inspiring creativity, this initiative not only beautifies the building but also creates aesthetics that promote the well-being and holistic development of our students, staff and faculty. The college and its Office of Equity and Inclusion are committed to commissioning more site-specific artwork in the coming years to continually enrich our environment and strengthen the connection between art and education.
