Career Development Month tips, guidance for students, staff

For National Career Development Month in November, the Office of Career Services and UIC Human Resources are collaborating to help students and employees define and develop their careers.

The National Career Development Month at UIC website offers information, events and free webinars.

The website’s online pathway for staff includes links to skills assessments, job specifications, professional certifications, mentoring, professional organizations and more.

The website’s student pathway offers the “30 Day Career Readiness Challenge” with exercises on networking, resumes and cover letters, identifying strengths, personal development and other topics.

The Office of Career Services works with students and recent alumni to offer career development guidance, professional development events and student employment.

UIC Human Resources provides staff with information about professional development, career management and training.
