Bored over break?

This is spring break, right?

Here we are, enjoying our cold and snow-filled spring break. I know that many people were lucky enough to head somewhere warm for break, but for the rest of us, this weather hasn’t been the best, especially considering what is was like last week. If the weather has got you down (or if you’re just falling into a break slump), here are some ideas of how you can make the most of being out of the classroom.

• Go the library and make a list of books you want to read. Pick something up, too.
• Complete a project. Paint your bedroom. Clean your car. Fix something that’s broken.
• Get crafty. Check out Pinterest for inspiration.
• Shop online for spring clothes. It’ll be here eventually, right? RIGHT?
• Get ahead of your homework assignments.
• Back up files on your computer. Take your photos off of your phone.
• Go on a long car ride and discover something new.
• Learn new songs to play on an instrument (if you play).
• Pick your classes for next semester (or apply for jobs if this is the end!)
• If you have a dog, take him or her for the longest walk you ever have.
• Go to bed early and wake up to watch the sun rise.
• Check out the stars in the sky. Sometimes, you can even see them when you’re in the city.
• Get your outdoor stuff ready for warmer weather. Pump air into your bike tires, clean it off, etc.
• Pretend it’s warmer out. Go get ice cream somewhere.
• Along the same lines, no matter where you live, road trip to Rainbow Cone. Trust me. I’ve grown up with this life-changing ice cream. You need it.
• Find someone to play board games with. You’ve probably forgotten how much fun the are.
• Bake something delicious and fun to make.

No matter what you do, whether you take my advice or find something else to do, make sure you’re making the most of this time off! You’ll regret it later if you don’t. And just because the weather isn’t ideal doesn’t mean you don’t have to enjoy yourself. Get off the couch and do something!
