Barbara Risman, professor and head of sociology, was elected vice president of the American Sociological Association, the national organization for sociologists with a membership of over 13,000.  Risman’s term as vice president runs for one year, starting in August 2015, after a year of service as vice president elect.

Grants

College of Business Administration faculty members Anthony Pagano, associate professor of management and director of the Center for Supply Chain Management & Logistics, and Matthew Liotine, clinical associate professor of information and decision sciences, received a two-year grant from the Korea Maritime Institute to study the impact of technology trends on supply chains and logistics.

Publications

Colleen McQuillen, associate professor of Slavic and Baltic languages and literatures in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, is the author of The Modernist Masquerade: Stylizing Life, Literature, and Costumes in Russia (University of Wisconsin Press). The paperback original examines the cultural history of masked and costume balls in Russia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, along with their representations in works of literature.

Suzann Campbell, professor emerita of physical therapy in the College of Applied Health Sciences, is the author of Just Couldn’t Wait!, a journal for parents to use in chronicling the birth of preterm infants. The publisher is Infant Motor Performance Scales LLC.
