Pop-Up Library Design Competition Opening Reception

The UIC University Library and the Industrial Design Department at the College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts (CADA) have partnered to create an innovative way to bring the library to you! Students from the Industrial Design Department have designed three different concepts for a mobile UIC Pop-Up Library to be used at various events and locations on campus. Users of the Pop-Up Library will have a chance to access and engage with relevant materials that correspond with spaces, experiences and events of the student body. The UIC community will help pick a winning design, which will be fabricated for use by the University Library.

Opening Reception

Please join us for an opening reception for the UIC Pop-Up Library Design Competition on Monday, April 15, 2019 from 12-1 p.m. in the Richard J. Daley Library lobby. Student designers and Industrial Design faculty advisors will be present to answer questions as well as discuss the design process. Learn more about each design and cast your vote. Light refreshments will be served.

Contestants’ design concepts will be on display in the lobby of the Richard J. Daley Library from April 15-26, 2019. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 1, 2019.
