Dr. Damiano Rondelli is the Michael Reese Professor of Hematology in the College of Medicine and division chief of hematology/oncology. He also is director of blood and marrow transplant and director of the stem cell transplantation program.

Rondelli’s research, both clinical and in the laboratory, focuses on stem cell transplantation. He is principal investigator of phase I and phase II studies of allogeneic stem transplant for high-risk patients with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, advanced myelofibrosis or sickle cell anemia. His laboratory explores how stem cells interact with immune cells using in-vitro and in-vivo models of anti-stem cell rejection or immune tolerance.

Rondelli is the director of global partnerships in the College of Medicine’s Center for Global Health.
