Please join the UIC School of Public Health’s Global Health Program for our monthly Global Health Program Speaker Series. The speaker for November is Mafoko Phomane, environmental health campaigner at groundWork in South Africa. She will talk about the role of the health sector in the just transition and deadly air case in South Africa. In what became known as the Deadly Air court case, social and environmental justice groups accused the South African government of failing to enforce regulations to protect communities from toxic air pollution in the Highveld Priority Area.

All UIC students, faculty, staff and the general public are welcome to attend.
