SEL Bill: Legislation proposed in Congress last week would allow professional development funding for teachers and principals to be used for social and emotional learning programming. Roger Weissberg, NoVo Foundation Endowed Chair in Social and Emotional Learning at UIC, says schools nationwide are incorporating research that indicates SEL promotes positive behaviors and learning environments, and better academic achievement. School Closings: Some CPS closings will move students with disabilities from special education to general education classrooms.
