Infectious disease expert Dr. Mark S. Dworkin, a former state epidemiologist, has field experience in outbreak investigations and is author of two books about disease outbreaks in the U.S. and abroad.

Dworkin, who has worked at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and with the U.S. Public Health Service, investigates food-handling practices to prevent the spread of disease.

In addition to experience investigating outbreaks of infectious diseases, Dworkin’s research interests include the clinical epidemiology of HIV/AIDS, including technology-based ways of improving medication adherence and tracking immunization-preventable diseases, food- and waterborne diseases, and tick-borne diseases.
