Dr. Jalees Rehman is a professor of biochemistry and molecular genetics, medicine and biomedical engineering and the head of biochemistry and molecular genetics at the UIC College of Medicine. His laboratory develops AI algorithms to analyze genetic data and also studies the immune system and autoimmune disease, the role of blood vessels and inflammation in the development of Alzheimer’s disease and how excessive inflammation harms organs and tissues.
