Dr. Erica Hinz

Dr. Erica Hinz is an assistant professor of clinical obstetrics and gynecology and director of the Ryan Residency Training Program.

Hinz is fellowship-trained in complex family planning and provides comprehensive family planning services and contraceptive counseling for patients with complex medical problems at UI Health and its Center for Reproductive Health.

Her research interests include postpartum contraception, satisfaction and shared decision-making in contraception counseling, and abortion policy and its impact on patient care and access. Hinz has participated in several advocacy initiatives on access to health and health policy during her residency and fellowship. She has written for online media and provided written testimony for the Illinois Reproductive Health Act.
