Wu has performed extensive research on functional foods — a food or ingredient that affects functions or systems in the body — and how they may influence diseases in the mouth.
Wu has been a consultant to the FDA and a grant reviewer for the National Institutes of Health. She was the UIC College of Dentistry’s associate dean for research from 2002-2007.
