Why Should I Say Your Name Correctly? Community Dialogue and Embroidery Workshop

The UIC Department of Museum and Exhibition Studies presents, Why Should I Say Your Name Correctly? A Community Dialogue and Embroidery Workshop.

This program seeks to enhance dialogue around a person’s name and its significance in building positive social engagement and cultural sensitivity. After discussing the personal and cultural importance of names through a short presentation and collaborative workshop, participants will employ introductory embroidery and sewing process to create original artwork that further investigates our names and ourselves.
