Join Gallery 400, the Jane Addams-Hull House and the UIC Disability Cultural Center for a virtual tour of “Contemporary Ex-Votos: Devotion Beyond Medium.”
Led by curator Emmanuel Ortega and DCC Director Margaret Fink, the tour explores ex-votos, a type of small devotional painting created as a testament of gratitude. Exhibited across Gallery 400 and the Jane Addams-Hull House Museum, “Contemporary Ex-Votos” combines 19th- and 20th-century ex-votos with the work of contemporary Latinx artists considering devotion and resilience.
