Shared Paths, Divergent Fates: A Dual Narrative Approach to Palestine-Israel

Date / Time

September 11, 2019

12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Speakers: Hussein Ibish (senior resident scholar at the Arab Gulf State Institute in Washington and columnist) and David N. Myers (Sady and Ludwig Kahn Professor of Jewish History at UCLA and director of the UCLA Luskin Center for History and Policy)

On the eve of the new Israeli elections, the speakers will reflect back on seminal historical moments (1917, 1948, and 1967) in the contested land known as Israel and Palestine — a key to understanding the situation in the region today. They will explore the lived experience of Jews and Arabs, noting where their paths converged and, more commonly, diverged.

Kosher lunch provided.
