UIC hosts Toys for Tots Drive
Donate a toy to a child in need today.
The UIC Office of Preparedness and Response is participating in the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign. Through Dec. 5, UIC will be collecting new, unwrapped toys.
“It’s been an excellent experience,” said Julie Grey, emergency management specialist at the Office of Preparedness and Response. “The process has been extremely positive.”
Drop-off boxes can be found at the following locations :
East side of campus:
- Student Recreation Facility atrium
- Student Residence and Commons South front desk
- Physical Plant Building entrance
- Student Center East, first floor and rooms 238 and 340
- Student Services Building, room 2620
- University Hall, 25th floor
West side of campus:
- Sport and Fitness Center atrium
- Paulina Street Building, room 109
- Wood Street Parking Structure, Parking Administrative Office, Room 112
On Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the UIC community will celebrate at a toy sendoff event. A U.S. Marine Corps truck will be stationed in Parking Lot 1A to collect the donated toys and the campus community will have the opportunity to bring any last-minute donations, enjoy a fire pit with s’mores and hot cocoa, and more. The first 100 attendees will receive giveaways.
