An outspoken critic of the lifespan-enhancement industry, S. Jay Olshansky studies changes in life expectancy for human populations — and finds that for some groups, survival is actually decreasing.

His research ranges from estimates of the upper limit of human longevity, to the policy implications of individual and population aging, to forecasts of the size, survival and age structure of the population — and the never-ending pursuit of provable methods to slow the aging process.
