Biography
Dr. Lorenzo Gallon is the director of the Abdominal Organ Transplant Program and a nephrologist at UI Health. He is also a professor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
His research focuses on clinical and translational studies on kidney transplantation and chronic kidney disease, including immunosuppressive strategies, mechanisms of renal allograft rejection, the impact of physical exercise on biological aging after transplantation, recurrent diseases and the development of biomarkers and biosensors to monitor kidney health and disease and prevent rejection
