Biography
Ishani Mukherjee is an intercultural communication, social media marketing and popular media educator and scholar. She studies how people communicate across cultures and how that shapes our world. Her work examines digital advocacy, gender politics and how sociocultural dynamics and migration shape public conversations. Mukherjee is especially interested in how digital media, popular culture and film portray these issues, particularly within South Asia and its global diasporas.
New research forthcoming from Mukherjee explores the uses of AI in health communication to help mitigate intimate partner violence and dating violence, and the role of AI in shaping cultural and religious participation and advancing digital representation.
