Workshop: Building Toward the 19th Teachers for Social Justice Curriculum Fair

Date / Time

March 4, 2026

12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Please join representatives from Teachers for Social Justice and Education Workers for Palestine-Chicago as we explore the interrelated struggles of public health, disinvestment in Black communities, U.S. imperialism and education. The goal of this program is two-fold:

  • To provide an introduction, description and presentation of Teachers for Social Justice, the curriculum fair and this year’s theme
  • To forge connections of interrelated struggles in a concept-mapping process to help us see ways in which movement solidarity can generate transformative change in times of crisis.

Presenters will engage with participants in a concept-mapping activity, discussion and Q&A to make connections between public-health struggles in Chicago; the social and political forces driving inequity in health care, education, and housing; police and ICE attacks on Black and Latine communities; and U.S.-backed imperial violence from Palestine to Venezuela.

The presentation will be in-person and virtual, but not recorded. The activity will be in-person only and not recorded.

This program will build toward the 19th Teachers for Social Justice Curriculum Fair on March 14, 2026. The theme this year, Fighting for our Futures: Teaching for Solidarity and Justice in this Crisis, is grounded in the intersecting crises we face (locally, nationally, globally) and the opportunities to build toward a more just future.

Presentation: Noon-12:40 p.m.
Break: 12:40-12:50 p.m.
Activity: 12:50-1:30 p.m.
