Overview: More than half of the world’s acute myocardial infarctions and cardiac arrests will occur in India over the next 20 years, posing an enormous disease burden described as a global non-communicable disease (NCD) epidemic with many of those affected less than 40 years of age. particular challenge relates to the lack of capacity of the emergency medical system to respond to emergency calls related to possible ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).

This presentation will highlight the objectives of the HeartRescue India Project as one model of heart attack emergency care starting implementation in Bangalore, India in 2018.
