No CategoriesLocated at the heart of the city, UIC is an ideal place to add to our urban canopy. The campus is valued not only by current students but by alumni and many residents that call Chicago home. Join us at UIC to help plant these trees and beautify our urban environment.
With financial support from the Morton Arboretum and in honor of their Centennial Year Celebration, we will be planting 46 trees at UIC to reduce heat islands and better manage water retention at this site. We will be meeting outside of the Medical District Veterinary Clinic. Here is the coordinate point.
No experience is necessary! Volunteers will help us dig holes, plant trees, mulch, and water.
- Please bring a mask, long pants, closed-toe shoes, a (full) water bottle and sunscreen. We will take care of everything else!
- Note that masks may need to be worn for the duration of the project. We will limit group size and maintain social distancing as needed for participants’ health and safety.
We look forward to making a difference in this community and hope that you will join us!
*Please include a phone number in your registration in case of last-minute schedule changes due to weather!
