Do you own an outdated laptop, smartphone or other electronic device that is gathering dust? Planning, Sustainability and Project Management is collaborating with PCs for People to collect used and unused personal electronics, which will be refurbished and repurposed for resale to low-resource households and nonprofit organizations or recycled.
Accepted items:
- Desktop or laptop computers
- Phones
- TVs and monitors smaller than 45 inches (no CRTs)
- Computer accessories like keyboards, mice or speakers
- Printers
- Hard drives and other computer parts
- Power cords and cables
- Servers and networking equipment
- Thumb drives, CDs and small radios
Not accepted:
- Household appliances (including microwaves, refrigerators and vacuums)
- Car batteries, CRT (tube) TVs
- Anything containing chemicals, fossil fuels, biowaste, oil, liquids, powders, asbestos or freon
All device hard drives will be scrubbed by PCs for People.
