Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. The practice of mindfulness is associated with a number of mental and physical health benefits.
Over the course of four weeks, participants in this Mindful Way workshop will be introduced to mindfulness principles and common types of meditation practice. They will also participate in guided meditation practice in each meeting. Participants will be invited to discuss their experience with the practice and how to integrate it into daily life and as part of their self-care plan.
Open to UIC students only.
