HEALS: Surviving School and Work: Managing Midterms

Date / Time

March 12, 2025

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Are you interested in building connections, healing and working toward justice with survivors at UIC?

The Campus Advocacy Network invites you to HEALS: Healing for Engagement, Action and Leadership by Survivors, a drop-in gathering space for UIC students who have experienced gender-based violence (domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, harassment, stalking and family abuse) and those who support them. Over lunch and crafts, we will check in, celebrate wins, troubleshoot challenges and discuss issues related to safety and healing.

Our topic for Wednesday, March 12, is Surviving School and Work: Managing Midterms. What are the challenges of moving through classes and work as a survivor? What forms of support and accommodations do you need in the classroom, and how can you access them? We will leave the session with concrete strategies and goals for the second half of the semester.

UIC undergraduate, graduate and professional students are welcome. All sessions are hybrid, so you can join us in person or on Zoom. Lunch is provided for in-person participants.

We meet every other Wednesday; come when you can. Get more information and register.
