From Surviving to Thriving: Cultivating Possibilities for Parenting Students in Illinois

Date / Time

March 20, 2025

9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join the UIC Women’s Leadership and Resource Center and campus partners for a symposium exploring the unique needs and challenges of students who are parents. Together we will uplift student stories, present current research on parenting students, identify best practices for supporting pregnant and parenting students and articulate ways to collaborate to put our ideas into action at UIC and campuses statewide.

We invite and encourage students, staff and faculty from UIC and other universities in Illinois who are parents to participate in this discussion about how to ensure these students can thrive on our campuses.

Co-sponsored by UIC Little Sparks, Life Scholars, Center for Excellence in Maternal and Child Health, Office of Student Success and Belonging, African American Academic Network, Office for Access and Equity, College of Education, Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Women and Student Affairs.
